REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT

Reverse Osmosis plant with a capacity 1000LPH was installed in the year November 2009 on the roof of Mechanical Department Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences, Supplied by Indo American Water systems of Vizianagaram. The RO treated water is supplied through the cooler points in each department and provide drinking water facility to all the staff and students. The Cost of the Plant is Approximately 3.1 Lakhs.

Procedure

Every day before starting the operation of the plant, The raw water is tested for pH & TDS will be noted down in log book. The raw water is send to RO system which consists of Sand, carbon filters to remove fine particle & other colored impurities and finally send to membranes for ultra filtration process to reduce the total dissolved solids to 80 to 120 ppm range. The treated water is first process for UV treatment to remove any bacterial impurities and collected in the big tank. Then the TDS & pH of treated water is tested and will be noted down on the log book along with the operational time. To supply for total college, the drinking water needs around 2500 liter is required, accordingly the plant is operated

Maintenance

  • Every day for efficient functioning of filters and membranes they back washed with water for one hour.

  • The the jumbo filters are replaced for every month, the remaining the sand and carbon filters are frequently checked for their efficiency and if demands the replacement they will replaced.

  • Every Six months the servicing of RO Plant is done by third party service providers for continuous maintenance purpose.

  • The Microbiology test is conducted to test the potability of water and is recorded for every month.

  • The Chemical and Bacteriological test are conducted to analyze the water frequently for every six months.

  • Frequently the RO water at cooler points will be checked randomly to ensure the quality of water point source.
